Get Married. Fight Cancer.

In the spirit of Saint Valentine, my wedding packages will be at the low price of $1,000 throughout all of February and 50% of all the proceeds will be going to CancerCare.org to financially assist cancer patients and their families with costly medication, support groups, child care, and home care.

Being a former cancer patient myself, this is a cause that I strongly believe in and wish to raise as much money as humanly possible for. I chose to work specifically with CancerCare.org due to their close and direct connection that they have between the staff and the patient. Being diagnosed with cancer is a very scary and confusing experience but with CancerCare.org's support groups and education workshops they can help create a path for those that are suffering.

The Particulars
• The couple will receive eight hours of event coverage for $1,000
• A high resolution disc of all the edited photos will be provided
• A small fee will be added to all weddings outside of Southern California
• This offer ends March 1st, 2012 so be sure to sign up right away!

Santa Barbara Wedding - Thomas and Sarah

Last month I photographed some of my super close friends wedding, Thomas and Sarah. Do you notice in the picture where the couple is holding up a heart shaped rock and kissing? Well, there is a story to that. One day when Thomas was at the young age of 13 he was walking along a beach when he stumbled upon this heart shaped rock and picked it up and decided then and there that he was going to give that rock to his future wife on his wedding day.

Now, do you notice the image of the cufflinks with the British flag on them? Yeah, there is a story behind those as well. Years before Thomas and Sarah ever met she was living in London for a period of time and came across these here British flag cufflinks and thought, "hey, I am going to give these to my future husband on their wedding day."

Jump forward to years later, and they both had things to give to each other on their wedding day. Yeah, that happens in real life, people and I pretty much thought that was such a cool story that it needed to be shared with you. On another note: this wins longest blog post in the history of this blog. Enjoy.

Nicole

Here is a polaroid that I snapped of my wife around a year ago on a beach just a couple blocks from our tiny apartment. I go through a lot of phases with what I consider to be my "favorite photographs." But this has remained one of my all time favorite pictures for over a year.

Ever since the first day I met Nicole she has been the biggest source of inspiration in my life. Choosing art as a career path is probably one of the most difficult and emotionally draining jobs that I can think of, but she has always been by my side encouraging me through every sleepless night.

When Nicole is not obsessing over tacos or small furry creatures and freaking out about grad school, she can be found behind a sewing machine; creating unique objects for that tiny apartment of ours. Check out her blog at colacolaisland.blogspot.com . I don't think you will be disappointed.

Liz Wood

Last year I shot my super good friend and amazing singer/songwriter, Liz Wood for her upcoming EP, which you can listen to HERE.  I took these pictures on a sweaty Octobers day in West Hollywood on some delicious film. If you are in the LA area and want to treat your ears right; Liz is playing tomorrow night at a rad club called The Hotel Cafe at seven and be sure to pick up a few of prints from this shoot.

hellogoodbye

Last year I had the opportunity to shoot some shots of the hellogoodbye dudes for American Music Press Magazine. Notice how the stars on the wall are oddly close to the color of Forests beanie? Weird, huh?
